Tackle Box

Tackle Box is being developed to be the Australia’s flagship recreational fishing citizen science program that empowers the recreational fishing community!

The Australian Recreational Fishing Foundation has partnered with the Australian Government, every major recreational fishing organisation in Australia and many community groups to create products that allow not just fishers but every Australian to engage in citizen science collecting valuable information that will be used to improve fish habitats and biomasses, and improve fishing experiences.

Tackle Box has been designed so the community can enjoy a breath of fresh air knowing that the information they are helping to collect and provide is being evaluated by independent scientist and specialist which is then published independently to the public in real-time in a deidentified and aggregated way which ensures trust is being engendered with the community.

Tackle Box has been designed to encourage all Australians to get involved in collecting critical information that has the potential to improve their local fishery; a process known as ‘citizen science’ which is fast becoming a key area of growth in angler-engagement. All relevant information is published independently by artificial intelligence to the public in real-time and then evaluated by a group of independent scientists and specialists to ensure transparency.
